We've all seen it, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. It's a childhood Christmas classic that follows Kevin McCallister as he gets into mischief after he accidentally boards the wrong plan and arrives in NYC sans his family.
I can personally watch this movie on repeat, pretty much anytime of the year. But of course, I desire to watch it the most around Christmas. It just gets me the holiday spirit and of course, I love that it takes place in the best city in the world- New York City!
I spent last Monday in NYC with, unlike main character Kevin, my parents, exploring all the quintessential NYC Christmas landmarks- Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree, Radio City Music Hall and the Saks Fifth Avenue Christmas show. It was a warm evening, as we passed through the crowd of tourists and locals, to the top of Rockefeller to Sixtyfive Bar & Cocktail Lounge. As we split a bottle of Pinot Noir, we reminisced about past family vacations and discussed goals for 2016 and explored the unreal views of the whole city from the deck.
After imbibing in our bottle, we ventured back down to the streets and devoured some street meat. As we waited for our chicken souvlaki in pita to be ready, we danced to the mediterranean that was blasting from the street cart.
It was a fun NYC night full of culture, Christmas spirit and yummy food.
