It's a bird, it’s a plane, it’s a...Croissant?
A woman in Krakow, Poland saw a mysterious creature, without a head and limbs, sitting on a tree branch outside of her home. After seeing the creature for 2 days, the concerned woman decided to call the Krakow Society for the Protection of Animals (KTOZ). The woman explained that she was sure it was a bird, but that it could also be an iguana. When the authorities arrived upon inspection, they found out that this creature was actually a croissant.
You may have never heard of this taco that’s actually really not a taco.
This week the New Yorker released a mouth-watering story piece about the French Taco. This so-called taco is a popular French fast food delight that features a flour tortilla with lots of meat (typically halal), condiments, and French fries all inside the tortilla. Everything is then bathed in a cheese sauce. Finally, the tortilla and its delicious contents are folded into a rectangular packet and toasted on the grill- kind of like a panini. The French taco is controversial amongst certain communities in France, and its true inventors are unknown. It is however a homegrown French fast food staple and its original creators were most likely of North Africa decent living around Lyon. The French taco is a special treat in France as many domestic fast food joints and chains have been built off its very existence, and the taco has also made in-road as far as Hanoi, Vietnam. This taco is still a mystery to most (even in France), but it seems that its flavor, texture, and everything else in between is undeniable. For now, we Americans will just have to settle for the New Yorker Article to satiate our cravings for this taco that’s not really a taco.
Free beer from our “Bud”-dy and Sam.
A few weeks ago we announced that Krispy Kreme is giving away free donuts to anyone who has been vaccinated. So how about some free beer to go with those free donuts?
Budweiser and Sam Adams announced that they would be “buying a beer” for anyone who has gotten a shot. Here’s the deal:
To get free Budweiser, adults 21 or older can go to ABeerOnBud.com and show their proof of vaccination, which is either a pic of your "I Got Vaccinated" sticker, a pic of the Band-Aid stuck to your upper arm, or a selfie taken while you were at a vaccination location. The company is giving away $5 debit cards to 10,000 people! This promo is from now until May 16, however, residents of Alabama, California, and Texas aren't eligible to receive one.
To get free Sam Adam, all you need to do is post a pic of your sticker or bandage on Twitter or Instagram, tag @samadamsbeer, and use the hashtag #shotforsam. The brewmasters say to "lookout for a DM from Sam," and after he slides into your inbox, you'll get $5 through Cash App to spend on your favorite brews.

DQ is releasing 6 ice cream flavors The beloved ice cream chain is just in time for summer, but these flavors will only be around for a limited time. So, what are these flavors you might ask? Well, one is based on an all-time classic: The Girl Scout Thin Mints Blizzard which features Thin Mints cookie pieces and cool mint blended with DQ’s soft serve. The others include Brownie Batter and Raspberry Fudge Bliss, and three others are made for kids. Kids will get to enjoy a Drumstick with Peanuts, Frosted Animal Cookie, and Cotton Candy. The last ice cream on the list is the Cotton Candy Blizzard which as its name implies features a cotton candy flavor. The ice cream doesn’t have actual cotton candy in it but instead, it has cotton candy sprinkles blended in.
