According to research firm Technavio the doughnut market will grow by $5.69 billion between 2020 and 2024. A pizza shop in Cumberland Rhode Island, Angelo's Palace Pizza, may be offering us a window into a future. The shop has hired a robot named Servi to help bus pizzas to tables. The pizza shop owner believes that the robot has actually contributed to a better customer experience. The staff has more face time with customers because they are not having to run back and forth between the kitchen and tables with orders.

 

According to the Bear Robotics website, the Servi comes in two models and uses mapping and analytics technology to respectively get a handle on the space and to help optimize its function. The site advertises that their robots are in fact created to help restaurant establishments and their employees spend more meaningful time with patrons. The robot handles the nitty gritty work like bringing out food and running back plates.
