The pizza was tested by a small panel of people, but that’s where the story ends. The restaurant stated that they are not sure if they can legally sell pizzas with this unusual protein as there may be a risk of allergic reactions particularly in those individuals with seafood allergies. According to the FDA, these big insects have a connection to shrimp and lobsters.

The fast-food chain does not sell sheet cakes to walk-in customers but does offer them to McDonald’s locations for various occasions. Typically, a McDonald’s operator would order a sheet cake for a specific occasion like a birthday or graduation — either for the location or for a customer. With that said though, these cakes are not an official menu item and they are not available at every location.
